Spotting a Pretty-faced Wallaby in our Campervan

July 22, 2010

On a recent campervan hire, we discovered a pretty-faced wallaby watching us by the side of the road.  These are also known as the Whiptail wallaby.  They are social animals and often hang out in a ‘mobs’ of up to 50 others.  They eat grass, plants and ferns.  When travelling in your campervan or motorhome, you should see these driving into the Undara Lava Tubes National  Park.

Male Pretty-Faced Wallabies weigh from 14 – 26 kg’s, and stand at 70 – 93 cm tall; Females weigh from 7 – 15 kg, and stand at 65 – 75 cm tall.
