Dates for the Hobart Wooden Boat Festival
We thought we’d announce the dates for the Hobart Wooden Boat Festival, which happens every 2 years, and its taking place in February next year (2017) on the 10th – 13th February.
We’ll already be in Tassie at that time because we’re setting off on our Tasmania Escorted Tour so we’ll get to witness the historic waterfront come alive with colour and excitement of the countries rich maritime culture and history.
If you head down to Sullivan’s Cove from Hunter St to Princes Wharf and Castray Esplanade, you’ll get to experience Tasmania’s favourite summer festival. You’ll be able to take a cruise, board a tall ship, snap up some fresh shell fish and listen to live music over the 4 days of this festival.
On display will be hundreds of wooden boats from classic sailboats to magnificent tall ships, rugged working boats to superbly detailed models. Walk among the crowds and have a chance to speak with the owners, builders, crafts people and sailors of these magnificent vessels.
The MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival is the largest wooden boat festival in the Southern hemisphere and admission is FREE! So if you’re in Hobart at this time it’ll be hard to miss this event.
